Cowlinge Hall is a 16th century timber framed farmhouse surrounded by an 11th century moat. The house has recently been fully restored to become the most wonderful country retreat. It is part of the Little Bradley Estate and is set within its own wildlife haven with stunning views over the rolling Suffolk countryside. The house has been decorated and furnished to the highest standard to provide an extremely comfortable home away from home. Cowlinge Hall is located down a private drive just off the A143 near Stradishall. There is a village shop and petrol station 1 mile away and Haverhill, its nearest town is a 7 minute drive. It is ideally situated for visiting the centre of British Racing at Newmarket (10 miles), historic Bury St Edmunds (14 miles), the world famous University City of Cambridge (20 miles) along with many medieval market towns.

25% deposit followed by full payment 4 weeks before your stay

Minimum two nights (except at Christmas when it’s a minimum of 5 days)

Refundable security deposit
£500 payable one week before your stay and refunded up to 7 days after your stay

Additional information
Cowlinge Hall is a timber framed 16th Century farmhouse that comes with quirky ceilings, stairs and floors. It has just undergone a total renovation but the character remains. People over 6’ may need to watch out for some of the beams around the house.

There’s parking for up to five cars at Cowlinge Hall. There is an EV charger in the car park which you are welcome to use but we do make a charge for this of £30 per charge.

Cowlinge Hall is surrounded by a water filled moat. There is also a pond in the grassed paddocks surrounding the house. Please make sure young children and vulnerable guests are supervised at all times while in the external areas.

There are no stair gates fitted in this house. Some of the doors are fire doors and these should not be held open.

Guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.

Cowlinge Hall is situated on a working farm. Large machines could be working around the fields and farmyards. Please be very careful to avoid them. Do not play or explore any of the barns or machines.

“We had a fabulous stay at Cowlinge Hall during October half term. Celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary with all the family, the hall was a perfect place to do this. Absolutely beautifully decorated throughout, it felt like we were living in an interiors magazine for the week! Great location for exploring rural Suffolk.

We could all fit around the dining table comfortably and there were multiple relaxation areas with exceptionally comfortable sofas! The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with cookware and utensils. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also finished to a great standard – the whole group slept well!”
